Welcome to Street Smart for Women. I’m Sheila Silverstein, Promotion Director at WPOC and newly single. Facing this new Chapter in my life, I wondered how I could be of help to women in the same situation. Faced for the first time in 30 years with making decisions by myself from the sale of my house, my car, buying new appliances to just making many life decisions by myself. There are 100’s of sites to go to for more information however, I thought this could be a webpage where you could ask those questions that are prefaced with “ This is a dumb question”, seriously I know how that feels—living it everyday! I am here to ask the questions for you and have get the best answers to those questions just for you.
The more I speak with women in this new phase of their lives, I am finding that we need a place to reach out and ask the questions that might help us be better consumers from buying a car, choosing a financial planner, to should I use a real estate agent or do I need a will?
This is where we can learn about this transition together about all the “items” of life that are new to us or that we want more information about---this isn’t a journey we need to take alone. Hopefully, you will listen to the pod casts that will appear here and visit the contributing businesses or just email me a topic you want to explore.
